BICKER PREPARATORY SCHOOL
AND EARLY YEARS
Nature and Nurture at our Hearts
Our children say.....
'We have freedom to be creative.. ' (M.R. Y6) 'If you have a problem you can ask for help and get it,' (E.C. Y6)
'It is friendly and feels like a family. There is no bullying' (K.G. Y6)
WELCOME TO BICKER PREP
Our school is situated in the heart of the picturesque village of Bicker in South Lincolnshire. Built in 1845, the school has been extensively refurbished but retains the traditional atmosphere of a small country school.
Equipped with the highest quality resources we offer a warm, friendly environment in which to learn. Our school has large, light and airy classrooms as well as a purpose built Nursery Department, added in 1999.
We have our own Environmental Area on-site as well as a private Nature Reserve which we travel to by coach. We strongly believe in 'hands on' outdoor learning as well as a strong academic curriculum.

Harvest Festival 2020
A big thank you to everyone who gave so generously to this year's Harvest Festival initiative.
We were delighted to be able to give generously to our local Foodbank.
We have also been very pleased to be able to give £205 to Emily's charity helping families in need in Uganda. The children have enjoyed finding out more about life in Uganda and have been inspired to do more to help.
Our Chosen Charity for the coming year is the
Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire Air Ambulance
The PTFA (Parent Teacher and Friends Association) work closely with the school to deliver regular children's Film Nights, a weekly healthy Tuck Shop, family events as well as the annual Scholastic Bookfair.
Their fundraising helps to subsidise school trips, sporting events and other educational enhancements.

Platinum Green Tree Award
This year we have been delighted to be awarded the Platinum Green Tree Award for our work in the environment.
This has built on our Green Tree 'Gold' award and has entailed a number of environmental initiatives including creating wild trails at our Nature Reserve as well as holding a wildlife photography competition judged by local wildlife photographer Dean Eades.
Our children are also keen to help the environment by recycling and re-using items such as boxes and suitable containers. They compost raw food waste as well as save water by using our water butts.
