OUR VISION, AIMS AND ETHOS

Nature and Nurture at our Hearts

We have an holistic approach to learning and to life.Children learn by touching, tasting, feeling, hearing, seeing and doing.

We have an holistic approach to learning and to life.Children learn by touching, tasting, feeling, hearing, seeing and doing.

We believe in tolerance of difference and respect for the individual. We promote a safe and secure environment where children feel confident to express their beliefs and opinions. We are committed to social justice.

We believe that children should be active and we encourage them to take up sport as a way of developing and maintaining physical health

Our teaching ethos recognises that habits and skills are learned slowly and by repetition: what is learned in the Primary Years is easily and readily absorbed and will remain for life.

We believe in a Partnership Approach: pupils, staff and parents are separate teams, yet one whole team. We are also members of the community, making a difference artistically, intellectually or physically.

Our teachers are skilled in understanding the detailed development of the young child to ensure that positive attitudes to learning are fostered right from the start, as these will remain throughout school life and beyond.

We maintain optimum class sizes of no more than 20. This ensures that every child receives individual attention, thus enabling the child to maximise their full potential and talents.

The Outdoor Classroom is a great place to learn.

We provide a happy, safe and friendly atmosphere in which children may flourish.

Pupils are encourage to become independent, to use their own initiative and to be well-mannered at all times.
