Phased Reopening During Coronavirus

We have been so proud of our children following our phased reopening of school following school closure. They have coped amazingly well with 'social distancing' and the dedication and expertise of staff has ensured that the children have found this period of time both exciting and worthwhile.
As an end of term 'treat' an ice cream van came to visit and instead of a school trip, the Year 5 and 6 children enjoyed a session of 'Virtual Reality' thanks to ARK ICT of PInchbeck who provided the Virtual Reality headsets and tuition.

We have also done lots of outdoor learning at the school's Environmental Area including work on symmetry, poetry, art as well as Forest School activities. The children have told us that this term has been 'awesome'.

We were delighted with the generous donation of food for our local Foodbank this year.

We were also pleased to be able to send £205 to support the work of Emily Braybrook in Uganda.
Thank you to all who supported these initiatives.
Raising Money for Charity
The Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance is our chosen charity for 2020/21.

We look forward to raising money for this valuable local charity which relies on donations to carry out its valuable role in our local community.
We also regularly support the NSPCC and Save the Children.
This year we are also looking forward to supporting our local Food Bank as well as raising money to help disadvantaged families in Uganda, through our Harvest Festival collection.

Pupil News

We were delighted that all our children choosing to sit the 11+ examination in 2019, achieved the score required for entry into Lincolnshire Grammar Schools.

Not all of our children opt to sit the 11+ examination and we are delighted that children and their families tell us they feel well-supported in making an informed decision when faced with secondary transition.
Our children feed into a wide range of secondary schools and we encourage children and parents to visit a number of secondary schools in their area.

Please see below for links to some of the Secondary Schools we feed into.

Performance and Public Speaking
At Bicker Preparatory School and Early Years we place a high priority on building confidence through public performances. We look forward to continuing to focus on these skills during the coming academic year.
From their entry into the Foundation Stage children put on musical performances for parents, grandparents, other family members and friends. Each child has a role to play, most with speaking parts and all join in with singing and dancing.
Our Upper School children put on an annual production. Every child has a speaking part and older children sing solos and all are expected to memorise their lines.
Church services take place throughout the year, as well as an annual Prizegiving Ceremony, which enables children to develop the confidence they need to 'shine' at secondary school.
Many of our children are chosen as form captains or team representatives when they move up to secondary school and we receive glowing reports from the schools we feed into.
