Building futures – Science room

Building futures is a timetabled opportunity for the children to apply their knowledge and skills using an art room, a design room and a science room.

During these sessions we are aiming to inspire our designers, creators and inventors of the future.

In the science room with Mrs Grayling there were many different scientific equipment set out for the children to explore. They looked at rocks and gems using books to identify the different rocks and gems as well as magnifying glasses to look closely at them.

They experimented with an array of magnets and explored magnetic items. they tested different objects in the classroom to see if they were magnetic. FH in Year 1 said ‘I liked finding things that were magnetic’.

The children looked at different things that dissolve in water, they noticed that some dissolved quicker than others.
