Black History

Class 4 enjoyed learning about the Civil Rights Movement and the important figure, Martin Luther King. The children thought about what it was like to be not be treated equally because of the colour of your skin or your gender. They listened to parts of Dr King’s famous ‘I Have a Dream’ speech and thought about what life was like at the time. The children learned about the bus boycott after the arrest of Rosa Parks for standing up to the racist laws of the time.

In the afternoon, the children of classes 4 and 5 merged and enjoyed cultural activities from different parts of the world.
