The presentation of the Trophy at Sports Day

Children enjoy competitive Sport throughout the year, earning team points for their Houses. Sports day in the Summer is a chance for every child to compete in races whilst being cheered on by parents and friends.

We are developing new partnerships with local sporting bodies to enable our children to participate in a wide variety of Sports. Our aim is to enable each child to find a physical activity that they really enjoy. They become motivated to continue sport at Secondary School and on into adult life.

Currently we work with Boston United Football Club coaches who teach KS1 and KS2 children at Bicker every week. Their Multisports program enables children to learn the rules of the major sports and to practise the relevant skills through fun activities.

KS1 children work with BUFC coach and class teacher

During the winter months we are working with Boston West Golf Club . KS1 and KS2 children will have the opportunity to play on the 18-hole course. We have also invited one of their coaches to work with the children at Bicker in February when we will use the Bicker's Hall facilities. www.bostonwestgolfclub.co.uk

Our children also have the opportunity to learn to swim on Wednesday afternoons at the Geoff Moulder Leisure Complex in Boston. This voluntary activity is organized for us by the Parents' Association. Many of our children start swimming whilst in the Nursery School and continue on up to the age of eleven.   http://www.bostonleisurecentre.co.uk/

Many forms of dance are  taught. The Maypole is   popular. Children take part in dances from around the world and from different periods of History.

Our cross curricular approach to learning means that PE is incorporated into the topic for the term. For example: History of Tudors includes Tudor Dance from the court of Henry VIII, Geography studies on Australia include the aboriginal dance of Creation.

Children enjoy Gymnastics at Bicker throughout the year, both indoors and outdoors. We work towards Gymnastics certificates which test individual skills and the ability to put together a sequence.

Pupils are taught about Health and Safety as they move equipment under supervision. Screens between classrooms can be moved to accommodate gymnastic equipment inside during winter months.
