Welcome to our new website.
An introduction to Bicker Preparatory School and Early Years.
Our school is situated in the heart of the picturesque village of Bicker in South Lincolnshire. Built in 1845, the school has been extensively refurbished but retains the traditional atmosphere of a small country school.
Equipped with the highest quality resources our school offers a warm, friendly environment in which to learn. We offer large, light and airy classrooms as well as a purpose built Nursery School, added in 1999.

There are ample outdoor play facilities consisting of a fenced playground
equipped with  'street/traffic markings.’ Children experience road safety first hand as they cycle around in safety. There is also a  netball court and a lawned rear garden bordered by shrubs and trees.
We have an ‘all weather’ sheltered play patio and covered and fenced Nursery outdoor play area. In recent years we have acquired an easily accessible Environmental Area which offers flower borders, shrubs and trees, flower meadow and woodland. These provide children with an array of learning opportunities and information about the world around them.

Bicker Preparatory School and Early Years
Our Aim
To offer a school where children are prepared for their future education in a happy and friendly atmosphere. Pupils are encouraged to become independent, to use their own initiative and to be well-mannered at all times.
Understanding Staff:
We understand that the first seven years of a child’s life is the period of most rapid physical and mental growth, therefore it is essential that teachers are skilled in understanding the detailed development of the young child to ensure that positive attitudes to learning are fostered right from the start as these will remain throughout school life and beyond.
Class Sizes:
We provide small classes; these are vital to ensure that every child receives personal, individual attention, thus enabling the child to maximise their full potential and talents.
Our Teaching Ethos:
We recognise that habits and skills are learned slowly and by repetition: what is learned in the Primary years is easily and readily absorbed and will remain for life.
We aim to:
  • Ensure that children have time to explore, to experiment and to consolidate their learning in a warm and friendly environment.
  • Provide children with the skilled and widely experienced teachers they need to approach their learning with understanding, sensitivity and confidence to enable them to develop a full and rounded personality.
  • Give children the skills and support they need to make friends and to form relationships of quality to enable them to feel confident and happy and to realise their own self-worth.
