Our
school is situated in the heart of the picturesque village
of Bicker in the south of Lincolnshire. Built in 1845 the
school has been extensively refurbished but retains the traditional
atmosphere of a small country school.
Carpeted throughout and equipped with the highest quality resources our school offers a warm, friendly, smoke-free zone. It is a comfortable and inviting environment in which to learn. The classrooms are large, light and environment in which to learn.

The classrooms are large, light and airy with a large, purpose
built Nursery Department added in 1999. There are outdoor
play facilities consisting of a fenced hard surface area as
well as a large lawned garden with trees where the children
are encouraged to grow their own seeds and plants to study
wildlife. |

The
Aims Of Bicker Preparatory School and Early Years
|
|
| |
|
We offer a school where children are prepared for their future
school in a happy and friendly atmosphere where they are encouraged
to be independent, to use their own initiative and to be good
mannered at all times.
The first seven years of a child's life is the period of most
rapid physical and mental growth, therefore it is essential
that positive attitudes to learning are fostered right from
the start. |
|
| |
|
Small
classes are vital to ensure every child receives
personal individual attention thus enabling the child to maximise
their full potential and talents.
Habits
and skills are learned slowly and by repetition:
what is learned in the Primary years is easily and readily
absorbed and will remain for life. |
|
| |
|
Children
need time to explore, to experiment and to consolidate their
learning in a warm and friendly environment.
Children need skilled and widely experienced teachers to approach
their learning with understanding, sensitivity and confidence
to enable them to develop a full and rounded personality.
Children need to make friends and to form relationships of quality
to enable them to feel confident and happy and to make them
realise their own self worth. |
|
| |
|
It
is through this attention to the detailed development of the
young child that Bicker Preparatory School fosters and encourages
every child to form positive attitudes to learning which will
remain throughout school life and beyond. |
